Free Directory of Bouncy Castle Hire Companies

Many hirers will ask whether or not a company has insurance.

The fact of the matter is that many bouncy castle hire companies do have insurance cover but this DOES NOT cover you if you are supervising the unit your selves. Any operator telling you otherwise is not telling you the truth.

Always ask to see a copy of their insurance anyway.

Bouncy castle hire companies are required to have their equipment tested annually. Failure to do so will result in their insurance being void anyway. Good companies will always produce copies of their insurance and safety certificates if asked.

Companies are also required to issue ‘Operating Instructions’ to a hirer.

Our public pages are designed to help members of the general public hire and safely enjoy inflatable play equipment

Please browse our pages and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us and we will try to help.

Buying Bouncy Castles
wp7768cbb1.png

In recent months Bouncy Castles have become readily available through various stores and warehouses.

At first glance these units look just like the ones that you see at events and the pricing would indicate the advantage of buying as opposed to hiring.

You need to be aware that most of these units are rated as ‘toys’ and whilst they are suitable for home use, if you follow the instructions, they are not suitable for commercial use. Most packaging will carry a warning to that effect.

This year we had a number of enquiries from schools who had had one of these units donated by a parent and needed to get insurance cover.  They were extremely disappointed when we told them that it would not be possible to get cover for a non commercial unit.

We have all read the horror stories in the press regarding various incidents on bouncy castles. To find out the the true perspective and how to safely enjoy read our Information Sheet

Most injuries occur due to poor supervision. The Health and Safety Executive have put together an information sheet ETIS 7 that includes a section on Safe Operation.

You can download a copy of ETIS 7 here

We have also put together a collection of videos that show exactly why accidents happen. Luckily nobody was hurt in any of our films but more by luck than good judgement. Those hiring bouncy castles  for there parties should be aware that if anyone was injured or equipment damaged it is the hirer who would be responsible for costs or damages. Click here to view

Bouncy castles and slides are also subject to BS EN 14960:2006 a new European Standard released in March 2007. This document is only available by purchase from the British Standards Institute although many bouncy castle companies now conform to this standard.

The Bouncy Castle Industry is full of ‘jargon’ that can confuse at the best of times

Check out our Information Sheet 15 that should help with any confusion.
